Who We Are and What We Do

SAFEChecks is a provider of checks and check disbursement software and hardware specifically designed to stop or deter check fraud losses while simplifying check printing. Products include high security checks, Positive Pay file-transmission software, check-writing and forms-printing software (for W-2s, 1099s, etc.), MICR laser printers, and unique security fonts designed specifically to prevent altered payee names and dollar amounts on laser-printed checks.

As a company, SAFEChecks is completely unique. It began as a division of a California-based business bank with a single goal: Stop the check fraud losses being borne by the bank and its corporate clients. And toward that goal, we were extremely successful. (Please read the History section.) In the beginning, we were primarily a check printer, making high security checks manufactured with security features and ordering controls that are unmatched by any other check provider.

Today, SafeChecks is America's premier check-fraud prevention company, offering an entire array of products to simplify check printing while reducing fraud losses. We actively seek out “best of class” products as they evolve across many disciplines and incorporate them into fraud-prevention solutions for our clients.

We believe every company, large or small, needs and deserves equal fraud protection. Therefore, we do not sell varying grades of checks. We sell a single grade of check that is of the highest quality. And we have found that by holding to a single high standard, we are able to keep costs down so that our high security checks are affordable to all companies.

Unlike virtually all software companies and check printers, SAFEChecks will not sell the identical check to thousands, or even hundreds of companies. We won’t sell the same check to two companies! We believe the industry practice of selling identical blank laser checks to multiple companies is grossly negligent and shows tremendous self-interest and general disregard for their customers’ financial well-being. When multiple companies have the identical check stock, the employees of those various companies have direct access to other companies’ check supply. For security reasons, every check we sell is unique and customized for that company, and no two companies have the identical check. In this and many other ways, SAFEChecks is unique.
